"The young, free to act on their initiative, can lead their elders in the direction of the unknown. The children, the young, must ask the questions that we would never think to ask, but enough trust must be re-established so that the elders will be permitted to work with them on the answers." - Margaret Mead

An Investment in New Voices, New Leaders, New Solutions

It is often said that societies can be measured by the way in which they care for their young. Nurturing youth leadership is an important part of this responsibility to the next generation—and it can pay great (and sometimes unexpected) dividends in the present as well as the future.

Fortunately, our region has many organizations that are hard at work developing strategies to give young leaders a meaningful voice and role in our civic well being. But we need more and better strategies for meeting the crucial demand for leadership in our region.
