Forged In Fire: A History of Black Rebellions & Race Riots

There has never been a time when Africans and African Americans have NOT fought against oppression. On the African continent, they fought against the slave traders, in the slave forts, and then on the slave ships.  In the Caribbean, Brazil and throughout the Americas, they fought on the plantations, and everywhere they were taken.  They broke the tools, burned the crops, poisoned their enslavers, and escaped.  They also fought rebellions and even a successful revolution in Haiti.  Join the president of the Detroit Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, Jamon Jordan, as he leads a tour at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History discussing the fight against slavery, as well as the later race riots against Black people, and the urban rebellions against racism in the 1960s, especially the Detroit 1967 Rebellion.
