Four Miles of Fortune! Black History & Wealth in Boston-Edison

The land that is now Boston Edison was originally owned by John R. Williams, the Detroit slaveowner and namesake of the street, "John R.",  One of its earliest residents was Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Company.  Despite that history, successful African American businessmen and women, celebrities, politiicians, doctors, lawyers, preachers and crooks have lived in or near this mansion district and many STILL DO!  Prophet Jones & Daddy Grace. Smokey Robinson and the Queen of Soul.  Berry Gordy & Hill Harper. We'll even visit the home of the Top Numbers Runner in Detroit in the 1930s and 40s. Boston Edison is full of Detroit's Black History. Please join Black Scroll Network historian Jamon Jordan on a tour that will take you through the history of Paradise Valley businessmen, to Motown icons, to Gospel Greats and Prosperity Preachers! We Meet at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History!  This tour takes place on a SCHOOL bus. We will suppy water, and snacks, and will take bathroom breaks when needed.
